I aim to normalize the way mental health problems are viewed in children and adolescents and, at the same time, I am convinced that a balanced parent-child attachment relationship can prevent the development of a significant number of emotional and behavioral disorders in childhood.

He graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila, Bucharest, specializing in General Medicine in 2003, the year in which he began his training in pediatric psychiatry as a resident doctor (2003-2008) in the Clinic of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Hospital "Prof. Dr. Al. Obregia", Bucharest. Between 2009-2016 she worked as a specialist in pediatric psychiatry in the Clinic of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Medlife - Mindcare and in the Center for Emotional and Behavioral Education for Children "Save the Children", Bucharest (2011-2016). Since February 2017 she is a founding member and Pediatric Psychiatry Specialist of the Psychotherapy and Counseling Center for Children, Adolescents and Family, MINDTHERAPY CENTER.
During her years of training and later as a psychiatrist, she was involved in numerous projects for the prevention of mental health disorders in children and adolescents, combating violence against children, developing secure attachment relationships between parent and child. She has been involved in the assessment of children with emotional and behavioural disorders, the development of intervention and treatment plans, psychoeducation for families and teachers, direct intervention in families and schools for parents and children at risk of developing emotional and behavioural disorders, training and workshops for teachers, parents and children.
She has completed training in EMDR (a psychological intervention technique used in the therapy of trauma/traumatic experiences/post-traumatic stress disorder) and is a supervising family and couples psychotherapist with the Alliance for Children and Families.
Certified as a Circle of Security Parenting Educator - a parenting education and counseling program that promotes behavior change in children by improving the quality of the parent-child relationship and building a secure attachment foundation (2016) and began training as a couple and family therapist (2016).
She is a Master's graduate with a specialization in "Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapies" and a summer school participant organized by ECNP School of Neuropsychopharmacology (Oxford, 2010).
Initiated and participated in projects for teachers and parents: counselling of teachers in dealing with and supporting students with ASD and in dealing with and supporting students with ADHD, workshops for parents on "The impact of modern technology on brain development".
He was a member of the organizing committee of the First Congress of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2007, Bucharest), member of the team in the Project "Prophylaxis in psychiatric and psychosocial pathology of children with ADHD and autism spectrum disorders" within the National Mental Health Programme of the Ministry of Health (2007); Member of the organizing committee of the 5th National Conference on Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with international participation (Bucharest, 2008) and member of the editorial board of the Romanian Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2008-2010).
He has authored and co-authored scientific articles and papers in the areas of attachment, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, psychosis and eating disorders in children and adolescents.

Despre doamna dr Druga am numai cuvinte de lauda!
Povestea noastra incepe acum 9 ani cand mamei mele i-a fost recomandat de catre un psiholog, sa fiu evaluata de catre doamna Simona pentru ADHD. Primea mea interactiune cu dumneaei a fost foarte draguta, stand de vorba intr-un cabinet care m-a facut sa ma simt ca acasa. Era calma, temperata, dar in acelasi timp directa sa afle motivul pentru care am venit cu mama mea la dansa.
Intelegand mai bine problema, m-a chemat la o a doua intrevedere unde mi-a facut niste teste speficice copiilor cu ADHD. Chiar daca nu eram foarte cuminte, fiind un copil zvapaiat, a stiut mereu sa-mi vorbeasca astfel incat sa ma refocusez pe cerintele testelor, fara a tipa la mine.
Cand ne-am vazut a 3a oara sa discute cu parintii mei rezultatele testelor, a dorit sa-mi prescrie Concerta, doar ca parintii mei nu erau foarte increzatori in acest medicament si au decis sa intrerupem contactul cu doamna Simona.
Doamna doctor a fost omul care le-a deschis ochii familiei mele ca de fapt nu eram un copil rau, ci un copil cu ADHD care are nevoie de sustinere si pe langa asta m-a facut sa nu ma mai simt o ciudata , ci doar un om diferit.
Per total, recomand oricarui parinte sa-si duca copiii la dr Simona Druga, fiindca relatiile copil-medic si parinte-medic sunt foarte frumoase, lucru pe care nu l-am mai intalnit de atunci.
