My name is Vlad Bogdan Stroescu. I was born in 1979. I graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila", and since 2005 I have been working in psychiatry, first as a resident at the Alexandru Obregia Hospital in the capital, then as a psychiatrist in an emergency and liaison psychiatry department in Metz, in the east of France, and finally again in Romania, at Medlife and Mindcare .
Besides psychiatry, or because of it, I am interested in social sciences. The texts on this site will sometimes be about anthropology, ethnology, sociology or other fields related to medical humanism. I'm a Francophile, a music lover and a cyclist.
Sometimes I write short stories, which, more rarely, I even publish. My first published story was around 2007, in Time Out magazine. I wrote in the fledgling Story Magazine, back when it was coming out in print. I then wrote more on my original blog, Sweet Mahalasince 2006.
My first book was a surprise for me too, because it's a children's storybook, it's called Sleeping Stories, from Humanitas publishing house. I wrote it with love, because it was for my daughters.
I'm honored to write a bi-monthly column in the guild's weekly Medical Life.
