I aim to normalize the way mental health problems are viewed in children and adolescents and, at the same time, I am convinced that a balanced parent-child attachment relationship can prevent the development of a significant number of emotional and behavioral disorders in childhood.

He graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila, Bucharest, specializing in General Medicine in 2003, the year in which he began his training in pediatric psychiatry as a resident doctor (2003-2008) in the Clinic of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Hospital "Prof. Dr. Al. Obregia", Bucharest. Between 2009-2016 she worked as a specialist in pediatric psychiatry in the Clinic of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Medlife - Mindcare and in the Center for Emotional and Behavioral Education for Children "Save the Children", Bucharest (2011-2016). Since February 2017 she is a founding member and Pediatric Psychiatry Specialist of the Psychotherapy and Counseling Center for Children, Adolescents and Family, MINDTHERAPY CENTER.
During her years of training and later as a psychiatrist, she was involved in numerous projects for the prevention of mental health disorders in children and adolescents, combating violence against children, developing secure attachment relationships between parent and child. She has been involved in the assessment of children with emotional and behavioural disorders, the development of intervention and treatment plans, psychoeducation for families and teachers, direct intervention in families and schools for parents and children at risk of developing emotional and behavioural disorders, training and workshops for teachers, parents and children.
She has completed training in EMDR (a psychological intervention technique used in the therapy of trauma/traumatic experiences/post-traumatic stress disorder) and is a supervising family and couples psychotherapist with the Alliance for Children and Families.
Certified as a Circle of Security Parenting Educator - a parenting education and counseling program that promotes behavior change in children by improving the quality of the parent-child relationship and building a secure attachment foundation (2016) and began training as a couple and family therapist (2016).
She is a Master's graduate with a specialization in "Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapies" and a summer school participant organized by ECNP School of Neuropsychopharmacology (Oxford, 2010).
Initiated and participated in projects for teachers and parents: counselling of teachers in dealing with and supporting students with ASD and in dealing with and supporting students with ADHD, workshops for parents on "The impact of modern technology on brain development".
He was a member of the organizing committee of the First Congress of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2007, Bucharest), member of the team in the Project "Prophylaxis in psychiatric and psychosocial pathology of children with ADHD and autism spectrum disorders" within the National Mental Health Programme of the Ministry of Health (2007); Member of the organizing committee of the 5th National Conference on Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with international participation (Bucharest, 2008) and member of the editorial board of the Romanian Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2008-2010).
He has authored and co-authored scientific articles and papers in the areas of attachment, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, psychosis and eating disorders in children and adolescents.

I have nothing but praise for Dr Druga!
Our story begins 9 years ago when my mother was recommended by a psychologist to be assessed by Mrs Simona for ADHD. My first interaction with her was very nice, sitting and talking in an office that made me feel at home. She was calm, tempered, but at the same time straightforward to find out the reason why my mum and I had come to see her.
Understanding the problem better, he called me for a second appointment where he gave me some tests specific to children with ADHD. Even though I wasn't very good, being a fussy child, she always knew how to talk to me in such a way that I refocused on the requirements of the tests, without shouting at me.
When we saw her for the 3rd time to discuss the test results with my parents, she wanted to prescribe Concerta, but my parents were not very confident in this drug and decided to break contact with Mrs Simona.
The doctor was the man who opened my family's eyes to the fact that I was not a bad child, but a child with ADHD who needs support and besides that she made me no longer feel like a freak, but just a different person.
All in all, I recommend any parent to take their children to Dr Simona Druga, because the child-doctor and parent-doctor relationships are very beautiful, something I have never encountered since.
